More details when (a) I've calmed down and (b) I have time to do this experience justice. --Bob

Tmobile itself sucks, why expect anything different from customer disservice?

They lie about their phones coverage and pricing,

Whatever it is I'll bet it's not as bad as one CS rep from AT&T (the others I've had to deal with have been great.)

I called because the GPS in my phone was showing I was about a mile from where I really was. She first said I'd have to get AT&T Navigator for $9.95 a month. It took me a long time to convince her that wasn't the problem. She then kept insisting that the GPS worked from triangulation from three of their antenna towers. I had to keep explaining how GPS actually works and that triangulation would work with just two towers, that the phone would be the third point. I finally had to give up because I had a conferance starting. When it was over my GPS had magically repaired itself. Uh huh.

You'd think a German company would be much better.

The remnants of VoiceStream are still there with Seattle in charge of the US side of things.

A bunch of do-nothing morons in Seattle are the problem.

Well, at least I think I have the problem fixed. It only took three phone calls, about five hours of my time, and nearly a month without data service. --Bob

They used to have people at an 800 # who could work wonders.

They still have the #, but have replaced the wonder-working people with a robot menu. Hitting "0" will eventually get you a human, but not one of those wonder-working humans who used to work wonders at that #. Instead, the new people will charge you for something & then kick you back to a robot menu that wants you tell it what you just told the non-wonder-working human you were paying for.

I called customer service for Ditech the other day to get my tax statement and they made sure to say "This in Lisa in Rapid City, North Dakota." I liked speaking to someone in their native tongue. It helps.

Oh, I usually can get the statement online but some IT brainchild decided they should upgrade their system and take it down for 5 days during the final week of tax season.

We've had excellent service with Tmobile.

Me too.

And they've never lied about their prices.

And their 4G and general cellular coverage have both improved by leaps and bounds over the past several years.

Be interesting to know the details of Bob's problem, but we've never had an issue with them.

I like TMobile because they are unparalleled when I go to Europe...which I used to do a lot when I first got their service.

Of course, maybe I'm just giddy because with TMobile, I got the MLB.TV Premium package for free.

That would be the old Omnipoint call center in Bethlehem PA. Omnipoint was a great company that VoiceStream ruined.

Tmobile closed that call center

Because the 800 # now sucks big time, & I don't like typing my credit card # into an app not run by an airline or BoltBus (they haven't screwed me yet) I go into the local store for my pay-as-you-go 3G/30-day passes, which do not roll data points over, but are still cheaper, when added to the 200MB I get free each month for having a T-Mobile sim card, than their cheapest paid-plan passes. I've seen all those ads claiming improved coverage, so I mention to the techie selling me the pass that most of Maine still only has 2D coverage.

"Oh," the techie says, "people with newer tablets get the better coverage 1st. Eventually you will."

My 1-year-old tablet just wasn't born with a new-enough OS.
