About 25% of women and 19% of men report being 'filled with rage' by the sound of others eating.
I find that hard to believe.

It's hard to say, since you don't support your quote. Not all misophonia is triggered by the sound of eating. There are many other odd triggers. I could believe that 25%/19% have misophonia, but not specifically triggered by the sound of eating.

Not exactly rage but the sound of a bathroom exhaust fan elicits a strong negative reaction in me. I have to get out of a bathroom that has that sound as quickly as possible.
I don't know if that counts as misophonia. Probably not.

I am easily irritated by sounds that represent things that could or should be otherwise.
Plain eating: No problem. Crunching with one's mouth open when it doesn't need to be, not cool.
Garbage disposal for a few seconds until the thing is ground up: Fine. Letting it keep going for 30 more seconds and using up its lifetime rotations for nothing, not cool.
Car horn to alert someone to an impending crash: Great, that's what it's for. Car horn to greet someone or express anger, not cool.
Et cetera.

The first thing I had to have repaired in my house here was the fan in the downstairs bathroom. It actually woke me up at times.
I'm easily irritated by 75% of what passes for music.

Yeah, and kids on your lawn!

Those horrid air-dryers in bathrooms are so loud they make it hard for me, sometimes, to do what I came in there to do. And unless they're wind or solar powered, which none are, none of them are saving anything. This is one place I'd gladly sacrifice a few pine trees for paper instead.
I also hate the sound of vacuum cleaners, but at least they're not run perpetually.

I don't have a lawn, I'm in Arizona. There are no kids who live here except my stepdaughter but some residents have family with kids visiting and using the pool. When they start screaming that irritates me. When I first moved I'd check to see if someone was being murdered; now I don't care.

I was not familiar with this word.
I am one of those who is annoyed by certain food-eating sounds, though "enraged" is a way over the top description.
There's no rhyme or reason to the sounds that set me off but they include listening to someone bite into an apple, and listening to slurping/smacking kind of sound. When a denture commercial comes on the TV I just block my ears because I know they're going to amplify these biting sounds for theatrical effect.
At a really early age I was in proximity to someone who was totally deaf and was at first really grossed out by his sounds while he ate. It's funny but I've been able to rationalize this over time so that it doesn't trigger me anymore. I became really interested in how each of us process our own sound output and make adjustments-- probably also has something to do with perceiving one's own voice much differently from how others hear it.

I want a horn that sounds like a vehicle slamming on brakes to avoid crashing into someone who is pushing their luck
