WWTBAM Bored

I have an Amazon Echo. To activate it I have to say "Alexa" then ask a question or give it a task. Tonight while I was watching "Jeopardy!" it somehow was triggered by the audio of the show and gave three different "answers".

So Alexa isn't quite ready to interpret J! clues.

There was a report on NPR radio a couple weeks ago, where they followed up on a previous report about Alexa. In that one, they had given examples about giving commands like "Alexa, turn on the lights" or "Alexa, turn down the thermostat." Listeners who had Alexa wrote in that she had performed those commands in response to listening to the radio.

I'm no fan of Watson, but it's a lot smarter than this bag of bolts:

That is kind of funny, in its own way-but it also scares the crap out of me.

Elon Musk and others of his ilk are on record as being scared to death of Artificial Intelligence-sort of the Skynet thing.

What happens not only when an AI thingie comes up with those "Hitler was Right" conclusions, but also has the means to act on it.
