Looking for e-mail & connection advice, and life in general

Hey folks. Been lurking a lot, but not really anything major to post. SIL is off to Korea, BD and the two older HGSs are here. HS, DIL and youngest HGS are all doing well. Work is ridiculously busy. My "To be done" list might as well be written on a double roll of paper towels, it's so long. Challenges a Torah scroll in length. They're not real happy with me at present, some of it my own fault, some b/c I did what I thought was right but not what they wanted me to do. Such is the life of a QA manager in a regulated industry. Quality is the common enemy. Looks like J! has passed me by once more. Signed up for DC auditions, invitations for which have already gone out. Maybe now I'll finally go and check if I actually passed the test or not.

Anyhoo, I need some advice on the best connectivity company, i.e., television, internet and phone. My current carrier is meh, okay for service but mostly expensive. I see the offers from the other guys and gals and wonder if I can do better elsewhere, especially on price, without sacrificing too much if any service. What are people's opinions on the best, the worst, the okay and cheap, etc.? Linked to this is my desire for opinions on the best web-based e-mail system. Security is our biggest concern. I'm reasonably tech-savvy, but also old and still mistrustful of putting one's whole life on the web. What one company secures, one hacker can unsecure (iPhones notwithstanding, though I'll bet there are plenty who are trying). So, best and worst e-mail servers, please. Thanks in advance. GO KU!

The best company would be your local cable company. However do not use them for email. Either use a gmail account or, even better, get your own domain with free email and use that. I use godaddy.com. The reason you don't want your cable company's email address is that locks you to them. With the amount I've moved I'd have to have sent a change of email notice to thousands of places.

what he said. I got my own domain, through Hostgator.com and have free unlimited email accounts for the entire family. My email address will never change unless I decide not to renew the domain.
