As I noted before, neither did anyone else. I mean , if you are going to run for President, you need to actually campaign or something.

Even the local Clear Channel news/talk outlet would question what the heck he was doing - or not doing.

We are down to six names from the original 17:

Carson
Trump
Kasich
Bush
Cruz
Rubio

I like that several folks here turned me on to Kasich early and I am still rooting for him.

Remember a year ago when we were worrying about The Battle of the Family Dynasties, with another Bush-Clinton election? (The only thing that would have made it worse would have been if a Kennedy had been the Democratic vice presidential nominee.)

Maybe it's time to bring out this bit of prognostication from last November:

This is the school that has had the Presidential winner (although not the veeps nor the losing opponents) correct since the Ford-Carter election, and always done a year ahead of the elections.

They picked Bernie Sanders as the next POTUS.

Looks like we all better brush up on speaking Venezuelan! I hope it's not as hard to learn as Mexican...

A group that happens to be Bernie's overwhelmingly best demographic, hmmmm.

While I like a lot of what Bernie Sanders stands for, I don't think he or his supporters really understand what he would be in for if he got the Democratic nomination. He's escaped a lot of the Republican targeting so far because of (a) the Republican infighting and (b) their overwhelming hatred of Obama and Hillary. Obama also got a free pass from them up until he wrapped up the nomination eight years ago. What people forget about 2008 was that John McCain was virtually even in the national polls until Lehman Brothers tanked, at which point not even Abe Lincoln could have been elected as a Republican. And, in addition to his appeal to younger voters, Obama had a huge advantage with minority voters that Bernie doesn't enjoy. While they're not likely to turn out for Donald Trump or Marco Rubio in droves, they well might sit the election out.

That you believe that matters says a lot about the way you "think"....

Jeb found out this is not his father's, or even his brother's, GOP. Moderates need not apply.

And why do you think that is? Why has a Trump been able to garner so much support?

Edited because I misread the post I was replying to.

I'm not sure why that is. Maybe you could tell us.

Bob, please change the title on your first post in this thread. I was ready to start a new thread on Bush. Thanks.

If the title is "Fire up the toaster (political)" we can keep adding to it as needed.

I understood it early on, but can't explain why it hasn't diminished. Just like I can't explain why minorities still seem to just vote Democrat. It essentially comes down to a lack of actual thought, self reflection, and true concern for the future of this country. And I'm not saying you can't have true concern for the future of our county and vote different than me. I'm saying there seems to be a lack of thought with regards to Trump's hardcore support and the minority support of the Democrat party.

The joke's on you because there's no such thing in America as a Democrat party. If you want to talk about a Democrat party, go to England.

I guess it is. I've so been put in my place.

Here's something not so funny. Keep doing what you're doing I guess. Consistently voting as a bloc for the Democrats must be working in your mind. But its not my definition of success. Maybe Al and Jesse will eventually bring their people to the promised land. They are doing pretty well individually though. I'm sure they have your best interests in mind.

I agree with you there. It doesn't. If you sit around waiting for someone to give you something because of what you are rather than what you've done, you get the same results, black or white.
