I am hoping Bloomberg joins in. Otherwise I have no idea yet but never ever Trump.

Dang! I wish the real ballot boxes worked that well. :P

Looks like you need to be using the subsilver2 interface.

Can I vote for myself (notwithstanding the age requirement)?

I have been disenfranchised.

It fails no matter which browser I use. Must be a bug with the theme.

Now that Rand Paul is out, I will probably be voting for the Libertarian Party candidate.

Where's the "It does not matter" choice?

Where it belongs. Nowhere. If nothing else, it matters a great deal because of Supreme Court appointments.

The current Court is the most activist of my professional life. It's moving the law in a way that I really don't care for, and that I largely think is results-driven rather than driven by principled reasoning. A Republican President and a Republican Senate will likely solidify that tendency for the rest of my professional life. --Bob

You and I live in completely different worlds, Bob.

If the election was held today, nobody would show up to vote because everybody thinks that Election Day isn't until November.

I swear, I had nothing to do with it. I wasn't even in the same time zone. --Bob

You do realize that Gary Johnson supports abortion "rights", don't you?

What is your definition of an activist court? Your side won the 2 really big cases in the last little while. Gay Marriage and Obamacare. Are these examples of this court's activism-or does that term only apply to decisions that you don't like?

I ran across a paragraph in a book I am reading on Napa Valley that reminded me of Bob#'s post.

In explanation: Moskowite and Bob White are the 2 person minority on some 5 member county land use board or something. Varrelman is part of the 3-member majority block.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
>>>>>>>Moskowite glared at him as the proceedings continued. Moskowite was now championing a church that sought to build a school in the agricultural watershed, in contravention of the law, and the school was voted down. Bob White, the barber, deplored what he called political decisions.
"Does that mean our decisions are political," Varrelman asked, "Because they don't agree with yours?"

Yes, and it is the one big thing he and I disagree on. I did talk with him about it when I met him in 2012, and we did agree that Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton were, legally and Constitutionally speaking, horrible decisions. But if the choice is between Trump, Sanders/Clinton, and Johnson, I don't have much choice but to vote for Johnson.

A decision that is logically incoherent, particularly when it overrides the political branches. Obamacare certainly doesn't qualify on that score.

And in my view, the same-sex marriage decision was an inevitable consequence of right-to-privacy decisions beginning with the overruling of Bowers v. Hardwick and running through the invalidation of DOMA. That's why the post-DOMA decisions were nearly unanimous in overruling proscriptions of same-sex marriage. It's not particularly coherent because, in my view, Justice Kennedy is unwilling to acknowledge that sexual orientation should be considered a protected class for purposes of Equal Protection analysis. But if you conclude that it is, the decision is easy.

The voting rights decision, though, expressly overruled a Congressional finding on an issue that the Fourteenth Amendment expressly commits to Congress. It's hard to get much more active than that. --Bob
