I saw, but was not paying close attention, to a segment about the Bill's four straight Super Bowls. I could swear they were presenting it like the Bill's won all four. I thought I saw Jim Kelly saying "we could have just as easily lost all four games, they were that close." And I though I heard another comment that "all records may be broken but this one, winning four straight, may never."

And I was thinking the whole time about how I thought the Bill's lost 4 straight and knew Kelly never won one along with rookie classmate Dan Marino (Mark Clayton is my next door neighbor so I know the Dolphins' story during that period). So after I walked away I kept trying to think who that was I saw if it wasn't Jim Kelly and when did he (Kelly) lose all those Super Bowls if the Bills beat Aikman's Cowboys as they said. I finally looked it up to calm my mind, and it was as I thought, four straight appearances and losses by Kelly and the Bills.

So did I miss-hear everything or was it a spoof? I wish I had been paying attention and could have enjoyed it if it were a spoof.

Anyone see it and can explain?

I was too busy watching Puppy Bowl instead to notice.

BTW -- at halftime I switched to NatGeoWild's "Fish Bowl." It was ok, but it wasn't that mashup of a halftime show that the NFL put on.

I took a quick spin on Google and found this about the pregame bit that imagined if Norwood made the kick. It's not the actual segment from the pregame show, but it's enough to to demonstrate what aired yesterday.

Thanks! Yes, that is what it was, well, at least the start of it. I missed the "what if" and watched, sort of, like it was true reporting. Except, inside, I knew it wasn't right. A funny bit. i hope to find the full thing somewhere.

From the story:

It was the first Super Bowl to be capped off with a play that actually decided a winner — Scott Norwood’s kick that went wide right.

Um...this wasn't the last play of Super Bowl XXV. The last play was a Jeff Hostetler kneel-down.

Even if you want to grant it, it wasn't the first Super Bowl that was capped off by a play that determined the winner. That would be Super Bowl X, which ended when Glen Edwards intercepted Roger Staubach in the end zone to preserve a 21-17 victory by the Steelers.

This and Super Bowl XXXVI are the only two Super Bowls (going off my memory) that ended on a play that determined the winner.

I suppose you could count Super Bowl XXXIV as well, but even had the Titans scored on that play, they only would have tied.

The score was tied going into the last play of XXXVI, so that play wouldn't have necessarily determined a winner either. Not that it should have been the last play of that Super Bowl... the clock continued to tick off the last couple of seconds even after the winning kick landed. While I was happy with the result as an anti-Rams fan, there should have at least been one final kickoff...

True...it might NOT have determined the outcome of the game had the Pats missed the FG, but it did actually determine the outcome of the game because the Pats won.

some saw it as mocking the Bills and were ticked off about it...I didn't see it that way...light hearted yes, but not mean and mindful of the fact that this was a really great team, despite the 4 misfires in the big show...after all, no team's been to THREE in a row, let alone four.

BILL-eve me, as a long-suffering fan of the team. I've heard more than my fair share of mockery and slams...this segment was nowhere NEAR most of the crap I've seen and heard.

Well, Jim Kelly participated. I'm sure others from the team did as well, I just didn't pay enough attention. If he can do it to himself, its O.K.
