A Belgian cyclist has been caught doing something wrong. Not doping, just using a doped bike.

As in, the dang thing had a hidden motor in it. "Technological fraud" they're calling it.

How the heck you can hide a motor in those things (and expect to get away with it) I don't know, but evidently this person decided to pull a Rosie Ruiz.

It looks like it is using an electromagnetic system in the frame and wheel. There would be magnets spaced out around the wheel and a sort of coil used to create an electrical field in between the parts of the frame that are supporting the back wheel. The battery supplying the coil was apparently in the water bottle.

And more on this scandal -- apparently there has been some concerns about this for some months, and bikes had routinely been impounded for inspection after races to check them out (kind of like how NASCAR decides that the spoiler was 1/4" too low, and docks the racer and owner some points for it).
