RIP Jean Stapleton

Actress Jean Stapleton, best known for her role as Archie Bunker's wife in the groundbreaking 1970s sitcom "All in the Family," has died, her son said Saturday.

She was 90 years old.

You must be using my wife's Facebook account for news. There isn't a week that goes by where she says that someone has died, and I'll say "I thought they died a few years ago." Sure enough, it's an old story that someone pops up as new.

So, Mrs. Spiff and I are driving home from dinner tonight, and she's checking her smart phone. She said "Jean Stapleton died!"

I said, "Where are you seeing that?"

She said "On the Facebook news feed."

I said, "Yes, I heard that she died. I heard that three years ago."

She, too, wonders why she gets these "news" stories years after the fact as current news.
