Good luck to all with the J! test
I probably won't get back here until later in the week, so I'll wish all the Jeopardy! test takers good luck now.
I will not, repeat, NOT look up the answers afterwards. I'd rather be oblivious and keep hoping to get an audition e-mail, unlike last year when I thought I'd passed and discovered that I had committed some truly egregious errors. The most I'll do is come around here and ask for the answer to something I never heard of before.

I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Whew! I blanked on a lot, but maybe I got enough for a passing grade.
I'll wait until someone on the J! board posts the test. What's their URL, again?

Lucky you; it let you get in to take test! (see related threads)
Maybe if there were enough people screwed from getting in, you will have a passing score in a very small pool, so they'll have to call you to in-person test.

If the answers posted on the J! board are correct, then I got 44 out of 50. Passing the test isn't hard for me, but getting an audition and then doing well is.

I didn't have any trouble logging in but I did get a little concerned when 8:00 came and the timer on the website was still counting down. But the test came up and I even got a confirmatory email saying that they had my results.

Well, after reviewing the list of questions on the J! Board, I think I just made the cut-off with 35.
I hope they accept the variation of "Abel's Fable" for "Abel Fable".
I'm sorry for all of you who couldn't log in. I hope TPTB give you a chance to retake the test in one of the next two days.

Buried deep in J!'s very generic response to my heartfelt plea is the message that I don't have to pick a new day (which their site won't let me do anyway), I should just show up & log in.
They also, in this message, give the info about clicking on your name to get the dashboard with your status up, even though you can no longer amend it.

So they're prepared to give everyone a shot. I'm glad to here that. Good luck. --Bobghostjmf wrote:Buried deep in J!'s very generic response to my heartfelt plea is the message that I don't have to pick a new day (which their site won't let me do anyway), I should just show up & log in.

Re: Good luck to all with the J! test
What's maybe even sadder than being locked out entirely are those people on the J! Board who took test, never got confirmation telling them to wait for further invite to take in-person test, & went to that dashboard to find themselves listed as "incomplete", just as are we locked-out people.
To get to read more than 1st & last pages on the J! Board, by the way, you need to go to "full view". Mobile app, which my tablet automatically openned, doesn't let you pick page 2 etc, though it does offer pages at end.
I hate & avoid mobile apps.
And last night's J! FQ was the hardest I have ever seen. I was trying to think of lines from a movie. Even though the field was "Americana". Well, it *was* in a movie. As well as real life.

My suggestion is to sign into the "My Profile" thingie an hour early. It worked for me & another on the list then but we both stupidly signed out & tried to get back in closer to the test time.
In my case I was trying to avoid the library computer kicking me off during the test. It can do that during your 2nd hour but not your 1st.

Thanks Ghost! Sorry you had trouble
I'm signed in to my profile (so it seems!) but don't see any kind of link to the test. My brother is in the same boat (plus he wants to try to switch dates to tomorrow & not sure if it will let him.)

VADame:
Tell this to your brother:
You get to the dashboard (to change your date, for instance) by clicking on your name, in the upper left hand of the screen (yeah, left! I'm lefthanded, among other lefty leanings) after you've already gotten in via the Profile.
I got that info from ten96lt here, though the J! Complaint Answerers also wrote it to me today.
There used to be an "edit" button on that "dashboard" (why do they call them that?) you get after clicking on your name. But for me there isn't an edit button any more.
If that doesn't work, have him write to the complaints line. It actually says "contact us". SSS gave it to me on one of the many threads, if you can't find the button for it (I couldn't) I'll look it up for you:
its https://www.jeopardy.com/contact
What they told me, as I was unable to change my date to tonight, was just to log in tonight & "I would be allowed to take tonight's test".
We'll see.
At least I got into the Profile thingie. It kicked me out at 1st, too. But then let me in on the 2nd try.

Make sure you have the window up with the actual test clock counting down. Otherwise you're not in the right place yet.
It warns you "do not close this window or you may not get back in".
I'm in a computer lab with people having loud discussions about classes etc instead of the nice quiet (shhhhh!) library I had planned for this. Library is only open 'til 9:00pm.

Re: Good luck to all with the J! test
Just for fun I took the 1/26/16 test as posted in video via the J! board. Being a lazy slob, I did not write my answers down, but recreating from memory, just as on the test I took for real, I got either 37 or 38. Better than my real test, but not the slam-dunk some on the J! board are calling it, at least not for me. Anbd I could easily have done worse under real-test circumstances.
Maybe I'll do it again with a pencil this time. But not changing my missed or absent answers, so I can get real counts.

I got it right away. Working in the space program for most of my life makes it easier, I suppose.ghostjmf wrote:And last night's J! FQ was the hardest I have ever seen. But then the FJ last week that I thought was so hard was easy for you. It all depends on what you know.

Also stuff that's been on the media at the anniversaries of various civil-rights-related events & court decisions helped. That I had scrambled in my head the different court cases, in 3 diff states, complete with Norman Rockwell painting for school integration in one non-answer state is bad, but somehow I managed to snatch the right city & state for the answer out of all that.
Growing up in the 50s in the USA helped on that one a lot. I was a toddler during Brown decision, but it got discussed during Little Rock, about 1-1/2 years later, when I was 5, I think. And it all got brought back during the 60s, when I was plenty old enough to be aware. But then the FJ last week that I thought was so hard was easy for you. It all depends on what you know.
