Stupid Facebook

Someone created a spoof account of me on Facebook early yesterday morning. I reported the fake account to Facebook as soon as I learned of it.

This morning, I awoke to find an email from Facebook informing that my account was disabled because I was pretending to be someone else.

I thought that maybe they suspended both accounts until they resolved the issue. Nope, the spook account is still active 6 hours later.

I'm not friends with the current 'unavailable' one, but see several mutual friends to the active one.

I accepted your (fake?) friend request yesterday. I was thinking that I was already FB friends with you, but didn't give it a second thought. Is there anything you'd like me to say to the other Marty Scott?

Actually, the one I friended yesterday looks pretty legit and it's still online. It has 243 friends. I just sent that account a private facebook message, wishing good luck in Wyoming, so you can verify if that's the right one and if it's still working.

The "Marty Scott" I just found on FB has a post from Jan 16, 2015 as its oldest. Did they fix things?

I still have not been restored.

I had over 1000 friends.

13 hours since I e-mailed Facebook a copy of my Driver's License to prove I was the genuine and rightful owner of the profile.

Still no resolution.

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the poor customer service.

Okay then, so who is this guy? He has a nice looking family and is now up to 251 friends. Including me, as of yesterday. He looks a lot like you.

I just double checked. I've got 10 friends, five of whom I've never heard of. They invited me so I accepted.

I sure would hate it if someone hacked my account and I lost my 10 friends.

I wouldn't be surprised at poor customer service from FB. I once logged in, as me of course, from my sister's computer. Forever thereafter FB has our accounts scrambled. And she didn't even want a FB presence, some well-meaning friend had set it up for her.

Recently, since I don't post photos, they resurrected an old photo soneone had tagged me in, saying "don't you want to remember what you were doing a year ago".

A year or so ago they scavenged photos I'd taken on this tablet (which takes terrible photos) & asked "don't you want these on FB?". No, I did not. At least they didn't post them anyway.

Don't take pictures you wanted to send your doctor of visible symptoms of whatever with any device connected to the internet in any way. Certainly not to FB.

That FB could go into my tablet & scoop photos out has me appalled. And I don't know how to block it or who to protest it to that would have any effect. I know writing to FB would do nothing. Probably writing to Android or T-Mobile, ditto. T-Mobile continues to send me messages, both congratulatory & threatening, meant for other people (I can tell by the "phone #s", which in my case is just a tablet #, if they actually cited mine, that is, that they cite).

So I've been having political arguments with the wrong Marty Scott? To the point where I got unfriended?

That explains things. I hope I haven't been compromised somehow now.
