Because the owner wouldn't sell it to them at the price offerred. They're reported to be moving their signal in Jan 2017 to a low-power NH station my set does not pick up. FCC says they have to provide broadcast signal to wide area to keep their license, but they don't give a hoot because they own Comcast.
I guess I will have to watch my NBC shows on a computer.

I expect the last shot has not yet been fired in this battle.

Yeah, station owner says he'll sue if they leave. Won't help me watch my programs, that.
NBC wants to pay $300 mil, station owner wants $500 mil. Or something like that.
Not the 1st time NBC has made this bid. Is the 1st time they've decreed sayonara. They've been wooing local newscasters & recently wooed away channel 7's weatherperson, I read.
Herald (local paper) says they'll move their broadcast to channel 60, which I can't get, Globe (local paper) says where they'll move is not yet specified. WBUR (local PBS) says they own Telemundo. I have to look up where Telemundo broadcasts if anywhere. Lots of stations around 60 broadcasting in Spanish, but not on 60 itself.
