Dementia testing

no, not me, in spite of my tendency to enjoy watching the fireworks around here.

We have noticed that Dad was having some major memory issues, and some real mood swings. He couldn't remember their wedding, or if they had Power of Attorneys in place. He scored 23/30 on the dementia mini test, which indicates mild dementia.

Mom asked me to come out and talk with him about the testing and what was going on.

Yikes!

I'm sorry. That is not an easy thing. We are having issues with Kim's mother. And her uncle (non-blood side) was recently admitted my Kim's mother's sister to a memory facility. He has little to no memory, long term or short.

I am so sorry to hear & don't like the way it sounds with mood swings. My Mom's senile dementia was via strokes; no mood swings (though could have been, depending on where in brain strokes were).

She always got scores on those tests that rated her as in better state than she often was. She rallied for the tests, I think.

I know you have a lot of strength. You will need it. Please look into the various drugs they have these days for him. Some of them really do help delay stuff if not reverse it (yet).
