... are the biggest bunch of boring one-sided mismatches I've seen since they took Georgia Championship Wrestling off the air.

I had a feeling that ratings would suffer today because they moved the playoff games up to New Year's Eve, but I can't imagine anyone doing much watching except fans of the winning teams who aren't upset that they didn't get to play in the playoffs yesterday.

Interesting stat I just read:

Alabama has won more games this season at AT&T Stadium (2) than the Dallas Cowboys have (1).

There certainly have been a large number of blowouts in this years bowl games. You always expect the odd 30 to 40 point differential game, but there have been four like that - just in the games that I've been following. You'd expect that teams that are ranked within a few places of each other would make for closer games.

Of course, as a Tennessee fan I'm not complaining. :D

I was feeling that way with the Oregon -TCU game, with the Ducks up 31-0 at the half, and the Horned Frogs playing a backup QB (the starter was suspended for being an idiot).

I turned off the TV at that point, and turned it back on to see how bad it had become, and was in time to see it become a 31-28 game. The Ducks were playing their backup QB due to injury, and were stuck in neutral.

Then TCU tied the game up late, and won inthe third OT.

This tied the largest comeback in bowl histiry.

Wow wow wow.

The game also feature a very strange play that I discussed a few months back in a thread on Garo Ypremian and his infamous pass attempt. Late in the first half, TCU blocked an Oregon punt near the Oregon goal line. However, an Oregon player recovered the kick behind the line of scrimmage and ran it forward a few yards, getting a first down. Oregon kept the ball and was able to move out of danger before punting again.

Odd stat of the game. Oregon gained 376 yards in the first half, and 18 yards on 18 plays in the second half.

I was just watching some of the replay, and heard where an Oregon player asked a TCU player before the game what it was going to be like to play with a backup QB.

As the second half numbers SSS cited show, karma can be a bitch.

It was sort of hard to keep up with the day games at Manning's in New Orleans on New Year's Day. Too much screaming and Hotty Toddying from most of the crowd in attendance as we got ready for the Sugar Bowl that night. The only exception was the Tennessee game. It was pretty easy to know when the Vols did something good. Orange was the third most common color in Manning's after our Red and Blue.
