I need to vent just so I can move along

#1 Post by christie1111 » Fri Apr 11, 2008 7:16 am

Rant ahead, move along if you don't care to read.....

Crazy busy morning.

Laundry in the dryer wasn't dry enough so my clothes didn't get put in this morning. But I did help Daughter1111 get hers done in time for school

Made Kids1111 lunches for school. Daughter1111 left hers home and her cell phone and school book so everything would be needed to be dropped off on my way to work, which luckily is on the way after I drop Son1111 off at school.

But before that I unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. I put dinner in the crockpot for the boys since I will not be home in the evening as I am taking Daughter1111 to Penn State for a college visit.

Got myself ready for work.

While I was trying to do my hair, asked Husband1111 if if he could find some cold medicine for Son1111 since I was stuck in the bathroom. Got a scathing 'well if you could give me 20 seconds to myself' kind of response even though he was sitting and reading the paper for a good 20 minutes!

I told him I wish I had 20 seconds to myself in the morning.

He looked for the medicine, didn't find it so I had to find it anyway.

And Son1111 was late for school a second time this week. But Husband111 wouldn't know since he drove away 10 minutes earlier so I had to deal with moving a 6ft 3 13 yo who moves like molassas just like every morning.

It is a good thing I am going out of town tonight.

ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Okay, that was cathartic.

Thanks!

I'm sorry.

I've had those types of days myself.

The day will get better and something fabulous will happen to you.

Your vent probably wasn't looking for a response, but here's one anyway.

Suppose you hadn't brought that stuff to her school. Does she carry enough money to buy a lunch? In case of an emergency, could she borrow a cell from one of all the other kids who carry one? And could she similarly manage to get by without the book for a day?

Just wondering.

Not likely she had any money, but she would have managed without her lunch. She sits with the guys from the trumpet line and one of the boys would have lent her money.

The cell phone was the bigger issue as we are leaving immediately after her golf team meeting to go to the Harrisburg campus of Penn State this afternoon. Somehow she is old enough to be looking at colleges.

Heavy sigh.

Mornings like this just seem to snowball with bad stuff. The last time I had a similar morning, as soon as I turned onto the main road from our street a rock flew up from the truck in front and cracked my windshield! I just started crying. It was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Things will be better the rest of the day, I'm sure of it. Although a stern talk with kids1111 later on probably wouldn't hurt.

Won't always be glamorous, but it will have it's moments. I was keeping the little one last night. He loves to smile and I actually got him to laugh out loud for me for the first time. You'll love those little moments.

So you could have brought her cell this afternoon, with the rest of her luggage.

I am also thinking that leaving town, staying in a hotel and having someone else cook me dinner will be just what I need tonight.

I also got the entire Harry Potter series on CD and plan on listening to the last book on the car ride.

I have 5 and 6 on CD already but I planned to get the whole series and then donate the ones I alread have to the local library.

The 4 1/2 hour drive should be nice!

Especially with the thought that you are not flying American Airlines.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

It will be exactly what you need.

Plus your husband can deal with the household crap.

You may not appreciate this now, maybe later, so I'll say it now, so you can think of it later and smile.

Every problem that you have was a solution to a previous problem.

Remember when you were unemployed?

Back then, none of this would have been a problem.

Remember how you celebrated getting this job?

That you have this job caused all of these problems - without the job - these things would have been things for you to do this morning.

Hooray for your job! Hooray for these problems!

You mean you don't?!

And I am grateful to have the kids and husband to kvetch about.

I was quite annoyed this morning and thought if I could just vent here, I could put it out of my brain and move along.

And as usual, everyone here helps put things in perspective.
