Sorry about the skipped day. Just plain forgot, since there's little to report on the wedding stuff.

BD and GW were working on the phrasing of the invitation and RSVP card last night. I was downstairs taking care of the dog, and wasn't in on the details. I don't think anything was finalized. My current understanding is that FSIL's sister is helping out on the printing and stuff. I could be mistaken. She did send us some card stock examples, though.

She also works for a jeweler and gets a discount. She helped create the engagement ring, and will be helping out with the wedding bands. Apparently, BD and FSIL went wedding band shopping while they were together in CA a couple of weeks ago. She's getting something that goes with the engagement ring. He's getting something relatively simple that coordinates. Sister's affiliation saves them some money. Works all around.

Coincidence time. FSIL's mother is as much a seamstress as GW. One of my nephew's just got engaged, and his fiancee's mother is also talented in that area. My sis and she are getting along famously. That wedding is sometime next year.

At first, I thought, who gives a crap about the phrasing of invitations?

Then, I remembered the way Pealette's were phrased and how much I cried about it. I guess the phrasing can matter.

We want something between Latin liturgy and "BD and FSIL are gettin' hitched. Git yer asses in gear and git down here fer the drinkin', dancin' and partyin'!!"

In a good way, one hopes!

Can you share? It sounds touching.

It was not a good way.

The invites said Dr Dick and Pealette's mother request the honor of your presense.......

In other words, I was left off the invite. It was very upsetting to me. As far as I was concerned, I should have been on the invite as well.

My brother called me and told me that Dr Dick and some woman he didn't know wanted him to come to Pealette's wedding and he was wondering if I wanted him to come as well.
