I don't remember the episode, but given the touchiness about Ireland/Northern Ireland, that's the obvious answer.

Considering that these "Eligible Bachelors" are taking away opportunities from regular folks who are itching for a shot on
this show, I don't really care if he did.
This is the third week in a row of special themes, right? I'm losing my enthusiasm for the show, again.

I think this is a logical fallacy. How do we know these contestants weren't regular folks to begin with, and assigned to this week in particular simply because they happen to be single men with good looks? I'm pretty sure I remember relationship status being one of the things they ask you in the auditioning process.
The same could be said for "Bucket List Week" which they did earlier in the season.

At the Boston auditions they told you to write whether you were a bachelor, had a bucket list (& its contents) &/or had a really bright child on your application or the test sheet, I forget which.
I'd like to hope the people they chose in those categories also passed the test, but we don't know.

That may be. If so, I apologize to these contestants, but put the blame on TPTB, who created these theme weeks. When they cast contestants for these weeks, I have to think that the reason for their selection was their good fit for the theme. And, therefore, they lose my support.* Ultimately, it goes back to the beginnings of WWTBAM, when it was different from all other games shows, before or since, in that contestants qualified for the game show without being
selected by a producer.
*But if TPTB ever decide to have a "Contestants who don't fit any of our cutesy categories and just want to play the game" week, I'm there!

Too bad. I heard they are now casting for "Curmudgeon Week!"

I could be wrong, since I try to fast forward through the fluff, but I was under the impression that the Bachelors were leftovers from Chris Harrison's other shows, "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." At least it seemed that one theme week was veteran couples from those shows.
There was an episode last week that showed how clueless the Audience lifeline can be. I don't think the transcript is up yet, but the audience voted something like 36% that Yale University is in Massachusetts. And they were sitting in a studio in Connecticut, just down the road from Yale.
