WWTBAM Bored

Yesterday morning the Federal Building where I work was evacuated because of a suspicious package that was found at the loading dock. An X-ray scan looked suspicious so an explosives-detecting dog was called upon and reacted, indicating the possible presence of explosives. The building was evacuated; with my leg problems I can't go up or down stairs, so I had to be carried out on a fireman's stretcher. The video in the attached URL shows me (at the 1:22 mark) being carried, and being lifted up from that stretcher (at 1:29). The package turned out to have an old toner cartridge in it and it was giving off some sort of vapor. No explanation as to why the dog reacted.

I know that dogs can have a high success rate, but it's also been established that dogs can give false alerts, especially if their handler believes something is present.

Maybe the dog remembered how Al Qaeda tried to put bombs in printer cartridges.

Maybe the dog was thinking "They expect me to replace the toner cartridge? Why is it always me? I wish, just once, that whoever first sees the 'Low Toner' indicator would take the initiative to replace it then and there; not leaving it for someone else, usually me, who has an important presentation and gets fading across the graphs forcing me to replace it when I'm working a deadline."
