Ouch! I'm gone too. I would never have imagined that garbage collectors had a higher fatality rate than police officers. Their injury rate is definitely the highest. A million years ago in my human resources days, we paid workers' compensation insurance of $12 per thousand (IIRC) in salary for garbage collectors, $10 or so for firefighters, $8 or so for police officers . . . Maybe times have changed.

Regarding the aircraft pilot, I finally noticed that the question is airCRAFT, not airLINE. There have been two small aircraft crashes in our area in the past two years, both killing everybody on board.

$50K: 50:50. If Aircraft Pilot stays up there, I'm done. Even catching the fact that it's not limited to airline pilots, I'd have stuck to my guns.

It would have been sayonara for me before I finally noticed it. Even if I had noticed it in time, I still would never have picked police officer as the correct answer. What led me to leaning towards police officer was thinking that some amount of police officers do mainly desk work, and that most police beats are fairly copacetic.
