I took Prof. Schorske's "Intellectual History of Europe, 1840-1900" in 1974. It was one of the most popular classes in Princeton. I had to look up the title of the course, because everyone just called it "Schorske's course." One of the other students was Imee Marcos, whose father was the dictator of the Philippines and a dedicated anti-Communist. I spoke to her once, after a lecture about Karl Marx. I asked her what her father thought of the subject matter. She said he was OK with it.
