people whose first names are part of their last names
This was practice, so I could give the theatre PTB an idea of what they'd be up against without giving away actual game questions. We did Les Miserables last season. I only wrote ten of these, since I knew they wouldn't be used in the game. I also wrote these in Jeopardy! format, but at their suggestion, the rest of them will be in more traditional question format.
1. Famous motivational speaker and author, who wrote See You at the Top and Confessions of a Happy Christian.
2. Star outfielder for the Chicago Cubs in the 1960s and 70s, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987.
3. Lead guitarist and vocalist for The Kinks, his brother Ray sang lead on most of their later hits.
4. Another MLB player, this lifelong Detroit Tiger was one of only ten players elected to the Hall of Fame on his first ballot.
5. Name of the Naval commander played by Clark Gable in the 1958 film Run Silent, Run Deep. He wasn’t related to Sir Ralph, by the way.
6. He didn’t invent the phrase “Come on down!” for the Price is Right, but he did say it for the longest period of time. He also announced for many other game shows.
7. As of last night, this current governor of New Jersey is still officially a candidate for the Republican nomination for US president in 2016.
8. An American singer/songwriter who wrote “Me and Bobby McGee” and starred opposite Barbra Streisand in the 1977 remake of A Star is Born.
9. The winner of Season 11 on American Idol, his song “Gone, Gone, Gone” was certified double platinum in 2013.
10. Now 71 and serving a life sentence in a California prison, he once told David Frost that the motive for the 1968 assassination he committed was because of that person’s support for Israel.
