Well, yeah. McCarthy dropped out because he got caught telling the truth last week. And there is absolutely no place for truth in the Republican House of Representatives.

There are also rumors that he has been having an affair with another member.

It wasn't me!

Obviously. You just started one.

Seriously, until and unless a credible news source reports it as fact, I don't care. And after that, I'll only care if it demonstrates hypocrisy in his public positions or misuse of public funds (or some comparable abuse of public trust). I don't remember McCarthy as being one of those Congresscritters who makes a big deal about moral issues so I suspect that it wouldn't pass that test even if true. --Bob

I like that reasoning. As long as he has no stated moral values, or at least doesn't make a big deal about morality, he's free to do anything and he gets a pass, right? Sorta like Bill Clinton.

Oh, it also helps a lot if you are a democrat.

Quit being a dumbass, flock. You conveniently overlooked the preceding sentence where he said, "I'll only care if it demonstrates hypocrisy in his public positions or misuse of public funds (or some comparable abuse of public trust)." His view doesn't get any clearer than that.

Yeah just ask Gary hart...Or John Edwards...Or Anthony Wiener.... or Eliot Spitzer.

Whereas it's different for republicans. Like Newt Gingrich... Or David Vitter...Or Mark Sanford

I did not overlook that sentence. His meaning was clear. Since he wasn't one of those congress critters that makes a big deal about moral issues, he gets a pass on the rhetorical having an affair issue from Bob.

And I'm sure Bob can defend himself. Quit being a dumb ass.

Not what I said. Not close to what I said. What I said is that if he doesn't try to stick government's nose into my bedroom, I'll defend his right to keep our noses out of his.

Why do you want the government to pass legislation regulating our most intimate behavior? --Bob

To pander to the religious zealots without whom the economic zealots like Flock don't have a prayer (pun intended) of winning elections in most parts of the country.

I just got an e-mail asserting that Boehner has personally asked Paul Ryan to run for Speaker. --Bob
