$2k: Using my +1 already. Oh dear.

$5k: Extra help time, though I eventually figured it out on my own.

$7k: ATA. 62% would've been high enough for me to go straight for it, especially when it's a free guess. If only Arianna didn't doubt the audience enough to use the 50/50 here, as it probably would've helped her on the $20k question.

$20k: 50/50 here. Unless Catch-22 stays I'd be going for Lolita and probably bailing with $20k on the next question.

A rare Nihil Obstat(R) for me. I only knew the last one because it was a recent Final Jeopardy clue, but I think I could have puzzled through those authors easily enough.

Good for her, but I wonder how anyone who was offered that much in scholarship money (I'm assuming the offers came from multiple schools, so she couldn't actually collect it all) fit the show's casting theme of "new college students who need to win some money to pay their tuition."

I'm also wondering how her school's grading policy, as far as giving extra points for AP courses, compares to other schools, nationwide. There's not a standard, is there?

Having all three of the family on stage together made for a telegenic moment. Too bad the only author's name they could come up with between them was Orwell.

Answer: B (Lolita)
Too bad - her mother worked in a library but none of them knew anything about Catch-22 (Have they never heard of a "Catch-22 situation"? Not that that would necessarily help them identify a character.)

I suspect that was an error by the transcriptionist.

I've still got all lifelines.

It really upset me that whole family did not discuss author's names on last Q. They disregarded the actual Q.

Not complaining, as I very much appreciate the transcripts. Just curious if it was the show or the transcriptionist.

If I'm not mistaken, it wouldn't be the first time the show made that mistake. I remember transcribing Joe Trela's $500,000 question to somebody, and they responded "Dear God, they didn't really spell "Zuul" like that, did they?" (The show spelled it "Zool". Sure they could have been referring to the early-90s video game, but given the subject matter of the question, they were probably going for the Ghostbusters character.)

I ran on this street today:

Didn't notice any dragons.

(Many place names in Philadelphia's Main Line suburbs, like Tregaron Road, are of Welsh origin.)
