Our Facebook event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1700017226883478/) includes these responses from people who saw the play this weekend.
"God, Sex & Getting Even is a funny and poignant play about religion, gender, sex and morality. Tangredi takes on the hot button issues of the day in a college setting with humor and compassion without denying the harsh realities of consequences. With Artistic Director Hazen Cuyler at the helm, The Greenhouse Ensemble makes a remarkably strong debut with an excellent cast. This scrappy, lean production reveals what passionate theatre artists are capable of- it is to be celebrated. Everyone who takes theatre seriously should grab the opportunity to see this audacious production"- Kim Sharp, Associate Artistic Director & Literary Manager, Abingdon Theatre Company
"A huge congrats to the cast, crew and creatives of God, Sex and Getting Even. Went last night and absolutely LOVED the show. Bravo to the ensemble, hats off to the playwright and much kudos to the director for creating such a powerful evening for me! Go see this!!"- Di Zhu, General Manager, Russian Arts Theater & Studio
“Amazing is all that can be said for The Greenhouse Ensemble's play this weekend!” – Franciscan Community Center
"The nights you leave a tiny theater, feeling so overwhelmed with vulnerability, joy, heartbreak, inspiration..... This is why I love acting. Go see it and support The Greenhouse Ensemble"- Sarah
“This show deserves a longer run. And I hope you get it, as you and your cast have done an astounding job. Bravo” – Steph

That's exciting! Congrats

Re: We Got Extended!
Now that I'll be doing it on my own thread, rather than hijacking BiT's thread, I think I can reveal those two bits of dialogue. The setup is that one of the pairs of roommates consists of Dean, a Born Again Christian from Westchester (!), and Rusty, who is openly gay at school and closeted when he's home in Alabama. So you can imagine how well these two get along.SpacemanSpiff wrote:Congrats!!! (You know it was the Bama-Auburn dialogue that did it, right?)
The first dialogue comes when Rusty is telling his Australian suitemate Mark why he can't tell his father:
Spoiler
RUSTY
The only thing my Dad would hate more is if I started rooting for the University of Alabama. Which I wouldn’t.
MARK
You’re joking.
RUSTY
Nope. We’re Auburn all the way. War Eagle!
MARK
No, you twat! I mean they don’t know you’re gay?
Spoiler
DEAN
I don’t hate you. I care about you.
JUSTIN
Now that’s what I’m talking about!
DEAN
That’s why I get upset when I see you degrading yourself.
RUSTY
Say what?
JUSTIN
And we’re back. Dean, do you have to? Now?
RUSTY
What do you mean, degrading myself?
JUSTIN
Rusty, let it go.
RUSTY
The only time I ever degraded myself was that time I got boned by a ‘Bama fan.
DEAN
There’s a girl in the room!
DANA
Oh, don’t mind me, I’m from Brooklyn.
RUSTY
I overlooked the Crimson Tide t-shirt because he had soulful gray eyes, but when he started yelling “Roll Tide” while he had me bent over the –
DEAN
That’s disgusting! Why do you have to defile everything I care about? Can’t you at least leave football alone?
DEAN
I’ll let you in on a secret. Jesus doesn’t care anything about football.
RUSTY
You better not let anybody in Alabama hear you say that!
