"The reason I started hosting Millionaire is my job is to try and take every show that Regis has left opened," Harrison quips to ABC Radio, before adding, "When something like Millionaire comes up there are very few iconic shows like Millionaire; I mean really just a handful in television history. When ABC calls and says, 'Hey! Would you?' They didn't even have to finish the sentence. Of course!"
Well, uhhh, okay. But speaking of icons, wouldn't you like to sit in Reege's old chair, across the iconic Hot Seat?
This season, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire viewers can expect special weeks, such as "College Week," which will feature student contestants. Harrison said we also may recognize some contestants during another special week.

"I called some of my friends from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette franchise. So they'll be stopping by as well and some of them do very good," Harrison reveals. "And they're all raising money for charity, so it was just fun."
Ugh. I've been happy with you this week, Chris. Don't ruin it by recycling "reality" stars.

And, by the way, if anything good came out of last season, it was the demonstration that regular contestants could play for themselves and for charity at the same time.

And a shorter interview (on a page with a huge number of unrelated photos and assorted clickbait):

Harrison just chatted with "Extra" about watching the show in the past and studying previous hosts Regis Philbin and Meredith Vieira. He said, "I'm a student of the game. I watch all hosts. I watch what everyone does. After that many years, I have my own thing… my own style, and that's what I figured they brought me in to do."
Good. Did you watch Cedric and Terry, to learn what not to do?

As far as celebrity charity weeks go, I wish they'd think of/consider the idea to have previous champs play for charity instead. Between the millionaires and half millionaires, you've got 7 people. More than enough for a week, maybe enough for two.

EDIT: Redid my math. Corrected 8 to 7.

And another interview, with USA Today. They get off to a bad start.

From watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, we know that Harrison can bring the drama, so we put him in our metaphorical hot seat (because over the phone we couldn’t really tell if his seat was warm), and here’s what we found out.
Right. But from watching the TV, you might have noticed that the Hot Seat has been gone for years. That might at least have prompted a question about whether it's returning.

But, no, Chris tells them that it's as tough watching someone lose a bunch of money as it is watching them break their heart of his other show. And then all the remaining questions seem to be about that one.

<sigh>
