Police got it right

#1 Post by SpacemanSpiff » Wed Sep 16, 2015 2:36 pm

At least from my perspective.

On my current work commute, there are several areas where there is "high enforcement" of speeding laws. I wouldn't call them speed traps, it's not like they hide and try to be sneaky, and they are prone to accidents. So, I'm usually pretty careful about my speed on these sections of interstate.

This morning I was going into work, and got caught in the left lane of one such area (due to the way roads merge), and was wanting to slide over to one of the "slow" lanes. But I was already at 10 MPH over the limit, so I didn't try to speed up and slide over. So I gradually got a bit ahead, but realized the idiot behind me was going to try to cut in. And he did, blasting to the right, speeding up, and getting in front of me.

So, as I was ready to pull over into the center lane, I see blue lights flashing. The car behind me was an unmarked cruiser.

OH #@$)@#$(!!!! I figure I'm getting a ticket, because I must have sped up at some point. So, I shifted over, and got ready to shift over another lane and onto the side of the road. And as I moved over a lane...

the trooper blows past me and nails the guy who passed me!

Kind of made my day in a perverse way.

What a feeling!
..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

I was once (out of the many times) sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on my way to work when I worked in Stamford CT. I guys goes over to the breakdown lane to blow past everyone else. When I finally moved up a little, there he was talking to the police officer that caught him at it!

Yay!
