This is a dude that should have been put down long ago:

[Ricky] Gray was convicted in the slayings of the Harvey family on New Year's Day 2006, along with accomplice Ray Dandridge. Gray, 38, was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of Bryan Harvey, 49, and his wife Kathryn, 39. He was sentenced to death for the murders of their daughters Stella, 9, and Ruby, 4.

The family was found dead in their burning home. They had been forced into their basement and tied up. Their throats were slit and they were beaten with hammers.
The new defense: The lawyers they had didn't use the possibility that he was full of PCP when he did the deed. Of course, he didn't mention if he was full of PCP when he killed the young lady that was his lookout a few days later (to make sure she wouldn't talk), or when he killed his wife (he 'fessed up to that after the conviction).

And then this follow in the article:
"This was a crime crying out for an explanation," said Elizabeth Hambourger of the Durham, N.C.-based Center for Death Penalty Litigation. The PCP could have been that explanation, she said.
Explanation, yes. Mitigation, no.

Perhaps the explanation is that he is just a plain, evil, bad egg.

BTW, Ray Dandridge, his cohort, has multiple life sentences (not the death penalty) because he copped a plea.

Elizabeth Hambourger should be offered to sleep in the same cell with those two for a week, unsupervised.

A bump because there's some news to report on this.

Execution date is set for March 16. We'll see what last-minute claptrap stall this.
