WWTBAM Bored

In 2013, for the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination, the Dallas Morning News sold copies of its paper from the next day. Because the assassination had been on my birthday a friend gave me a copy, and I recently got around to taking a look through the entire paper. Here are some excerpts from the Help Wanted ads.

Executive Secretary - Age 23-35, Single woman preferred...

Bookkeeper, under 30, neat.

Excellent opportunity for men between the ages of 35 and 55...

...top caliber man, age 25 to 40...

Married man, 21-40...

Dishwasher
Permanent job for colored boy, age 18-25...

Young man (white) for counter work...

Granted, none of the ads under "Professional" had any of that nonsense (except one for a pharmacist under 45). But there were separate categories for "Clerks and Salesmen" and "Clerks and Salesladies."
