BAM transcript volunteer list

It's time for volunteers to step up and do transcripts. I'll take Fridays again.

I had been transcribing Thursdays for several years*, but last season, with Terry Crews as host, I couldn't stand it any more. As the episodes accumulated on my DVR, waiting for me to get to them, I ended up not even watching the Thursday episodes.

So you're welcome to take over the Thursday slot. Thank you!

Happy to do it. To me, it felt like there was a stretch for some time where Thursdays were the burn-off day of the week. It was the day where there were always three or four contestants because everyone was bombing out early.

When does the new season start? I have to see when it airs in Philly since I recall hearing a new show filling its current slot. I think I missed and never transcribed some shows late last year. If needed, I could take one slot.

According to my Tivo, Millionaire with Chris Harrison will be shown on 6ABC a few minutes after 1 a.m., starting Sept. 14 (actually Sept. 15 since it's after midnight). I wish they'd move it to 12:30 p.m., where it was when Terry was host (and show a second episode in the middle of the night).

In New York, it is also moving times: 4:00PM & 4:30PM (double run I assume) (WLNY) & 1:35AM (WABC).

I found the overnight times unreliable when trying to DVR second airings and other things so I may not be a reliable transcriber.

The overnight broadcast times are approximate. Allow some leeway before and after.

I just noticed someone complaining on Facebook about the 1:35 AM schedule (which really does sound like an awful sign from WWTBAM's flagship--and formerly hometown--station). Someone from the official WWTBAM account replied about the WLNY double run with a "Hope that helps." Yeah, and how many folks in Where Else get that Long Island station in their cable package?

Do you think WABC holds a grudge against TPTB for moving out of their studio?

It's all about the Benjamins...there is a new talk show being pushed around the ABC stations; and since Millionaire has only been getting a 1.6, the O&O's are shoving WWTBAM to the early am.

This will be overall dismal for ratings as four of the O&O's are in the top 10 largest markets.

I just checked the schedule for Tucson and found we now have two different stations showing the same episodes each day! KWBA (CW) has it at 9:00 AM and KGUN (ABC) at 3:00 PM; both show just the odd-numbered episodes. Both stations are owned by Scripps.

So the transcript team looks like this so far:

Mondays - pcmaxey
Tuesdays -
Wednesdays -
Thursdays - K.P.
Fridays - earendel

Obviously we still need two transcriptionists.

I'm assuming there are shared login credentials for the BBTranscripts user? Would someone in charge please pass that along to me so I can do the transcript tomorrow?

Not sure if we're supposed to be transcribing the second-run episodes. If we are, I only get the first-run, so if someone else could do the second-run on Thursday, that'd be great.

I have the shows from last Friday but still having computer problems so I can't upload the transcripts. I hope to get this fixed this evening.

We might as well hold off on the second-run episodes. They'll be airing in the first-run time slot in a couple of weeks.
