RIP Batgirl

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Wed Aug 19, 2015 1:05 am

Yvonne Craig, the actress best known for her role as Batgirl in the 1960’s “Batman” TV series, died on Monday. She was 78.

Craig passed away at her home in Pacific Palisades surrounded by her family, according to her spokesman. She had been suffering from breast cancer that metastasized to her liver.

Also as a Soviet ballerina in the second "Flint" movie (IIRC, she was trained in dance).

EDIT: I also remember that she was in an early Perry Mason episode, "The Case of the Lazy Lover." Her stepfather in that episode (who died in the prologue) was played by Neil Hamilton, who later played her TV father, Commissioner Gordon.

I just remembered Yvonne's Bat-PSA from the 1970s, which lives on in YouTubeLand

Yvonne is Batgirl and Burt Ward is Robin, but Dick Gautier is in the Batsuit for some reason. (Two out of three ain't bad?)

And, of course Desmond Doomsday (aka Batman producer William Dozier) does the narration.
