Yet another shameless kid brag

#1 Post by hermillion » Wed Apr 09, 2008 8:11 am

"My" Academic Team (mine in the sense that I am the coach) has now won ALL the hardware available in our area.

Last Tuesday we cleaned up in the Tulsa District playoffs, and brought home individual medals for everyone and a huge trophy for the team. Yesterday afternoon was the playoff for the NE Oklahoma league in which we are the only Tulsa team participating. We go up against some very large suburban schools, other regional city/town schools, and several of the (very well-funded) private schools in the area. Once again - we brought home the big trophy. My kids are walking on air! They had questions ranging from Transcendentalism to the Three Stooges, and fielded it all.

In addition, our team Captain won the state title for the National Geographic Bee last Friday, and will be travelling to Washington, DC in May to compete in the national competition - hosted by one Alex Trebek. He's more than a little excited!

The kids have worked hard and I'm so proud of all of them :D

I am proud of them too! I am sure that they put in a lot of time and effort and had a lot of great coaching to be where they are today!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the teams and the coach!

Hey, does this mean you will finally be back to FNGD? You've been away too long.
