Jets starting QB Geno Smith is out 6-10 weeks with a broken jaw.

He was sucker punched by a teammate (who is now an ex-teammate).

The Buffalo Bills, coached by ex-Jets coach Rex Ryan, have claimed IK Enemkpali on waivers. The chances of Enemkpali actually playing in an NFL game any time soon are exceedingly slim, but Ryan apparently wanted to get his former team's goat. Of course, he's the guy who drafted Enemkpali originally despite the player's rather checkered history.

I wonder if this is the "pick up a cut player from your rival and pump him for information before you cut him too" manoeuver.

I had to laugh at Elwood's remark that the search for Namath's replacement continues. It took more than a decade for Elway to replace . . . Elway. He had to step in and do the job himself.
