August 3, 1973:On this forgotten day, the infamous Chicken Ranch brothel in La Grange was shut down thanks to the colorful and always entertaining local reporter, Marvin Zindler.

Its ironic that he became famous as a top-notch reporter by bringing to light one of the worst kept secrets in central Texas. He apparently was the only over 40 male in Texas that didn't know anything about it.
