Flock's favorite reporter, Brian Ross, had this to say about Abdulazeez:
Image
It was only in the last year or so that Abdulazeez started wearing a long beard, often the sign of the religiously devout. This was a mug shot from a DUI arrest just three months ago.
Do any BBs notice what Brian missed?

Abdulazeez was Muslim, but not a known radical. They're still investigating what weapons he used, and how he got them, but it sounds like he had a high-powered rifle. Prohibiting Muslims from obtaining guns would violate at least two Constitutional amendments, but more restrictions on assault weapons could at least reduce the damage that terrorists like Abdulazeez can do. And why aren't soldiers who work in uniform in unguarded locations, and trained in combat and weaponry, armed?

He forgot to mention Abdulazeez was a Tea Party leader.

Otherwise, going just by what you quoted, he somehow managed to leave out exactly in what religion a long beard signifies being religiously devout. There are a few of them, but not too many. He couldn't bring himself to profile completely. I guess that's called a Politically Correct Profile. Since he is part of the PC crowd, he could get away with a PCP. Nobody in Fox News could, but most of them don't care what the PC crowd thinks of them.

But I probably missed what you are referring to.

Devout Muslims are supposed to refrain from alcohol, yet he was arrested on a suspected DUI is my guess.

Yes, you're right. Brian Ross described Abdulazeez's Muslim upbringing, and conjectured that he was radicalized after spending seven months in Jordan. But he couldn't have been very "devout" if he was pulled over for a DUI. This is the punishment for ISIL members caught drinking:

Jarnon, before 9/11, the hijackers were drinking and going to strip clubs.

SSS might want to take note that this took place in a gun-free zone, as indicated by the sticker on the door.

They enjoyed the vices that they couldn't have at home. And if you're a martyr for Allah, a few drinks don't really matter.

Let me get this straight. People willing to murder thousands of innocents in the name of religion failed to adhere to their own tenets? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you. --Bob

I think the point is him being busted on a DUI in no ways precludes him from being Muslim terrorist.

Sure he was a Muslim terrorist. But Brian Ross noticed the long beard in the mug shot and speculated he was devout, but missed the peculiarity.

Brian got the point. Today, he reported that Abdulazeez's parents said he sought to be a devout Muslim while heavily using marijuana and alcohol in violation of his faith's tenets. He had mental health problems too. Also, he liked hunting and owned several guns, and bought ammunition (wait for it) at Mecca.

I like your thinking, Bob. Maybe now you can be shocked, shocked, I tell you, that people who want to have guns to commit crimes would ignore and get around all the gun laws put in place by the states and any unconstitutional laws made by the Federal Government.
