So those who read my blog and have played LSWE the past few years know about how much I love finding new, obscure songs on the Mecca CD that I find to my liking. I've come across a few that have been hard to find on the internet, but not a song or an artist apparently as obscure as this one...

The song is "99%" by a Hawaiian artist named Leihoku. It took me a couple days of searching random strings of lyrics I could recall in the song to even find a lyrics site hit on it, and it doesn't even have a video uploaded to YouTube. From what I've seen, the singer herself only has one other song of hers there...

So, anyone into indie/obscure music (ahem*Esto*ahem) ever heard of her before, or the song?

I've only seen the name, maybe listed under nightclub ads as an opening act, since she lived here (in L.A.) at some point.

Did you Google her name? The most info is on her own website:
http://www.leihoku.com/

She just has one EP available. Both Amazon and iTunes sell it (but in digital format only).
http://www.amazon.com/Trouble-You-Gone- ... Leihoku%22

This page has all 6 songs in order (listenable):
http://www.leihoku.com/#!music/c10tw

She is also listed under Allmusic, but the bio reads the same as the one on her own site:
http://www.allmusic.com/artist/leihoku- ... /biography

Very cool voice. She's really pretty, too. Nice find!

Thanks! Judging by the number of plays, it seems like this is actually one of her lesser known songs, which makes it an even more curious choice for the CD... but I'm glad they introduced me to it. I'll miss the obscure selection of songs the CD's always provided once Mecca Radio returns in October...
