Omar SHarif dead at 83

CNN.com reports that the Dr. Zhivago(and many other films) actor and bridge player died today of a heart attack at age 83.

Our local paper ran Sharif's bridge column for a while, always very enjoyable.
I thought he was so handsome and such a great actor. About a million years ago, my brother had an ID photo taken which, contrary to the usual horrific ID pic, made him resemble Sharif. I hope he kept it.

I saw him several times at The Sportsman's Lounge in North Hollywood. I think he may have lived there back then. He always looked ready for his next close-up.
