Unsealed court deposition shows he did get Quaaludes with the intention of giving them to women for sex...although his lawyer says the women took them knowingly.

When did this happen? According to Wikipedia, Quaaludes were discontinued in the US in 1985.

This was the top news story here today.
6ABC wrote:Cosby, giving sworn testimony in the lawsuit accusing him of sexual assaulting Constand at his home in Pennsylvania in 2004, said he obtained seven quaalude prescriptions in the 1970s. Constand's lawyer asked if he had kept the sedatives through the 1990s, after they were banned, but was frustrated by objections from Cosby's attorney.

Apparently people have horded them and they're still available (illegally).

On a semi-related subject, my local TV station just broke the news that Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle is being investigated on child pornography charges-and this guy would go to schools and talk to kids about eating right-he came here a few years ago.

It's sad when people you think of as being wholesome turn out to be anything but.

According to the stories I've read, Fogle has not been arrested. Two months ago the executive director of Fogle's charitable foundation for children was arrested on federal child porn charges and is in custody. The FBI searched and removed various pieces of electronics from Fogle's home, but he was moving around freely. It's very possible they're looking for records pertaining to the executive director to help make their case.

I'm glad you've gotten that right. My social media feeds have posts saying he is accused of possessing child porn, not all but enough.

Sadly yes. When officials come in and start seizing "electronics" (and you know it's not the stereo, if folks still have one of those anymore) that's the first thing that comes up. Since, as noted, he's moving around and not busted (yet), I'll take a wait-and-see attitude. (And some of the comments on the news sites are just plain nasty).

Looks like Jared Fogle's going to cop a plea.

It's doesn't look good. Hope the prison food is better than Subway's. (And I hope that Comedy Central doesn't run the South Park episode, "Jared Has Aides.")

I admit that I misread this situation initially. They've got the goods on him. Pedophiles do associate with other pedophiles for a variety of reasons, so it's not that surprising the other guy had a good job in the organization and may have helped Jared get his hands on some "entertainment."

Quote from the article:
{Fogle} also said he had a Subway "black card" that let him eat at the chain for free.
He'll still get to eat for free.

Back to Cosby. The new Montgomery County DA has charged him with a sex crime. A few months ago, the outgoing DA charged Pennsylvania Attorney General Kane with official misconduct. If I'm picked for jury duty, I'd have a hard time being impartial in either of these cases.

Cosby's out on $1 million bail. I understand he used his one phone call to contact the affluenza mom.

I'm going to pull on some personal experience with Federal jury duty about 16 years ago.

I wonder what the judge will use as juror disqualifiers? "Have you ever eaten Jell-O? Does your retirement plan have money invested in Kraft (the Jell-O parent company)? Have you ever done Picture Pages as a youth? Did you ever say 'Hey Hey Hey' or play BuckBuck? Do you have a doctor named Huxtable? Have you ever played tennis, using it as a front to be a spy?"

Bill Cosby trial: Deadlocked jury to keep trying for a verdict on Day 10
NORRISTOWN, Pa. — The jury in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial is still at an impasse — after some 40 hours of deliberations over four days — but they're returning Friday for a fifth day of trying to reach a unanimous verdict.

Judge Steven O'Neill sent the seven men and five women of the jury, clearly fatigued, back to the hotel for the night around 9 p.m.; they will return Friday at 9 a.m. to try again.

“Nine o’clock is long enough to be debating for this day,” O’Neill said, as he sent the jurors off.

Then, curiously, the judge and the attorneys had a private meeting. After a few minutes, they and the jury returned to the courtroom. Many of the jurors were frowning.

The judge addressed the panel, saying he did not want to “intrude on deliberations,” but "if there is anything you need me to know, you will let the court know....I just want to be clear where we are right now.” O’Neill, like the jury, appeared tired from another 12-hour day.

I'd be curious to know what the jury breakdown was on the verdict.

I saw today it was 10-2 to convict on counts 1 & 3
1-11 on count 2
not guilty on remaining counts

If they had a resolution on some counts, I am surprised they didn't take a partial verdict.

I'm not following. Are you saying that the jurors unanimously agreed he was not guilty on the remaining counts? I haven't seen any reports that included juror interviews. --Bob

Bill Cosby plans to lecture teens about avoiding sexual-assault accusations
Would you send your teenager to a public lecture by Bill Cosby about sexual assault and how to avoid being accused?

That, says his publicist Andrew Wyatt, could be on the horizon this summer when Cosby — still facing criminal counts of sexual assault himself — launches a series of town halls for young people, especially athletes, to warn them of the dangers of "hanging out and partying, when they're doing certain things they shouldn't be doing."

Wyatt and his associate Ebonee Benson, both of whom were glued to Cosby's side during his 11-day trial that ended in a mistrial in Pennsylvania on June 17, went on Good Day Alabama in Birmingham to declare that Cosby wants to "get back to work" with a motivational speaking tour.
