I doubt the snake had very fond memories of it. I'm surprised he came in at all. "They are shy and elusive snakes which are rarely seen." Still, he got out with his life, and y'all did too. It did make the walk back to the chalet in the moonlight that night somewhat more adventurous than originally expected...
The guide wondered the same thing as I recall but the bar area is pretty quite during the day (it is a very small place) and the bar was made of clay tubes stacked on each other which may have well been cooler and seemed a bit like a cave or hole.
