some thoughts on the new Poldark

How's that for topical?
The old series lead us to believe he fought the revolution on *our* side. Can't shake what the novels said, if anything, out of the internet. It doesn't make sense that he & his girlfriend didn't write letters if he was a Brit officer, as he is in this version.
Old version, Eliz (his orig girlfriend) was the ultimate ice princess. New version she's warm & friendly.
Dunno how the books have it; guessing IP, & this redo just has to be diff to justify itself.
This version's Demelza doesn't hold a candle to orig. Who was a force of nature in a way that won her female fans. The original elemental wild child. And really a child in the orig, slower paced show. For the 1st few "years".
All I can get off internet talk so far is "why is facial scar on diff side". Who cares? Apparently, novels don't specify. I can get *that* off the internet.
