For my Red Sox Fan BB's

I posted this on Facebook...I'm posting it here as well..a very nice James Taylor song from his new cd, even though there's a Lyrical Advisory for Yankee Fans...
As a lifelong Yankee fan, I am required to hate this song. However, I am also a baseball fan..I love the game. It is that part of me, who loves the history, the legends, the grand old ballparks like Wrigley and yes, Fenway, who shares this song with you. As a fan in football of the Buffalo Bills, I know full well the misery and heartbreak of coming so close to winning it all and falling just short..usually in spectacular and soul crushing fashion. Therefore I will admit that just a little part of me flashed an almost imperceptible little smile in 2004 when the Red Sox won it all. Also, acknowledging that in order to gain full redemption for 86 years of suffering, it had to come via the humiliation of my beloved Yankees. So it was in '04 I tipped my cap to the LONG-TIME (read NON-Johnny-come-lately) fans who had suffered for so long and said "congratulations..you earned it". I was less charitable in '07 and '13, of course, but that's different lol...So, for my those of my friends and family who root for my team's arch-enemies, enjoy this lovely James Taylor song...he's one of my favorites, but I'd advise him to watch the stone-casting about buying players, as the Sox haven't exactly kept their wallets in their pockets either. And those of us on both sides of this fence know that, when it really matters...9/11, Boston Marathon....we all play for the same team.
