93 year old Penny Chenery, Secretariat's owner, was there.

Has anyone checked Steve Coburn to see if he's still alive, since last year as part of his sore loser rant, he said he'd never see another Triple Crown winner in his lifetime?

I was playing bridge when they ran it but brought it up on YouTube as soon as I got home.

Wow! I was worried for him because he won so convincingly on that muddy track at the Preakness, showing amazing power. But he took that fast track and made it his own.

I'm gonna go watch Secretariat's Belmont again.

After witnessing near misses by Smarty Jones, California Chrome and a few others, I was among the 90K at Belmont on Saturday, in a SRO area behind the seats. Being at Belmont for the eventual winner was on my personal bucket list dating back to the late 90s when the string of near misses started.

I got questions from my family about this one including one aunt of mine who asked if it was a UFO. I just added a description of this, which was a drone flying over the post-race concert by the group Goo Goo Dolls.

I was at the game when Nolan Ryan recorded his 5,000th strikeout and the game when Craig Bigio got his 3,000th hit. Those were certainties, though not necessarily for the games I bought tickets to, but they each were eventually going to get there. A triple crown win can't be predicted. Sort of like seeing a hole in one on a par 4 at the Masters.

I saw Nolan Ryan's "last" pitching appearance at Anaheim Stadium - two years in a row. Same for "The Last Drags" at Orange County International Raceway. I also saw the "Last Tours" for The Who and for David Bowie - many, many times.

I had a ticket for the first regular season interleague game in St. Louis... which wound up being the second regular season interleague game in St. Louis and the first ever regular season interleague game postponed due to rain.

You never know what you're gonna get....
