‘King of the Blues’ Blues Legend B.B. King Has Died in Las Vegas at Age 89

I remember going to see him at a tiny club about 25 -20 years ago, mostly because I thought he might not be around for much longer. I was lucky enough to see him 3 or 4 more times after that. RIP, B.B.

I saw him only once: In his club in Manhattan. I also went there for some of my friends' shows as well as other great acts.

RadioDude has been playing his stuff all morning. He just played "Don't you know you're ridin with the king" with Eric Clapton.

The legend passes . . .

with the recent news regarding him, knew this would be coming, still.....

he influenced many a guitar slinger...

EDIT: I just checked my old calendar and I was definitely there when this taped, on October 5, 1982. I must have been in the cheap seats (though they were all free, with free Lone Star beer, for those who made the effort).

He was a great talent. I was fortunate to see him perform four times, once in Oxford while I was still in college. He was pretty animated back then.

It didn't take long for this to get ugly...

I just noticed that one of our PBS stations is airing the B. B. King episode of "Austin City Limits" from 1982 that The Confessor attended and mentioned here. If interested in seeing it on your TV, check your local listings. Perhaps The Confessor can spot himself on a bigger screen.
