J! test April 14, 15, 16

#1 Post by earendel » Mon Mar 30, 2015 1:22 pm

This morning there was a banner on the J! home page to register for the online test. However the banner didn't work and now has been removed completely. There was also a Facebook post but that's been taken down as well. I suspect there are still some bugs that Sony needs to work out. Maybe it will go live this evening.

If you read the J! bored, you will notice a very long thread about the upcoming test. Apparently there are a lot of bugs in the registration site. I did find out that there is a partial list of cities that they will be going to.

San Francisco
Kansas City
Tampa
LA (their home base)
and a couple others I forget.

Note that there is only 1 city in the middle of the country-and very far from Michigan. Boo Hiss.
There is speculation that they may add more cities as people register and they get more ZIP codes in. They just went to Denver, Chicago, NYC and DC earlier this month, so I doubt they'd go back there again. I'd like to see them come to Detroit again, or maybe even come back to Grand Rapids after 20 years-the Clue Crew could visit the Ford Museum. If they don't add any more cities, I am skipping this round.

I think the others are Atlanta and Boston.

I received an email about registration, so went ahead and did it. What the hey.
Well, then

I was able to register.

Yes, Atlanta and Boston. I just registered...and from that very inconvenient list of cities, I chose Boston. (It's nice that they might add more cities later, not at all nice that you have to choose from this limited list now, and that the demand for particular cities that you don't even want that much will influence your chance of getting an invitation.)

I did get an official e-mail from J! about the test registrations being open.

Add Seattle to the list of cities, according to the J! bored.

I'd really like them to come to a: Detroit b: South Bend-there's a certain college there that they could recruit for the College tournament from c: Chicago (even though they went there already this year, and failed to invite me) or d: Grand Rapids, where they haven't been in 20 years!

While KC is closer to me, I went with Atlanta as I have been there around 6 times in the last 3 years, so I'm more familiar with the area than KC.

This is the first time in a while they've been to Atlanta. I really haven't put much effort into Jeopardy lately but I'll give it a shot.

We shall meet at the appointed place, Mr. Gh0st. Good luck all around!

That figures. I'm at a conference at Ole Miss all that week. I hope the wifi connection is good at the hotel. Gotta try, though. Been called to be a contestant once before, so hope still springs eternal.

I expect to see as many people as possible at the Boston audition room. No Bored Buddies competing against each other on the show!

I got the email notice, registered, and got the confirmation email. I chose Kansas City for the test.

I registered last night although it doesn't appear I got a confirmation in my email, wonder if I should do it again. I chose Boston for any in-person audition. I am currently in the WWTBAM contestant pool and got far in The Chase casting last season, but still no calls, so I may as well get my hopes up and have them dashed here too.

I'm still getting dumber when it comes to trivia/knowledge, though. Out of practice.

I took J!'s practice test- my recall is for shit right now.

You can try registering again - if you use the same information you'll get a message on the registration screen indicating that the user name is not unique.

Don't know if you'll be in the WWTBAM contestant pool anymore, you know, cancellation likely :)

I didn't get a confirmation e-mail either. I'll check that out tonight.

I just want them to hold on just one more season, so I can go through my full eligibility period of not being called! ;)

I'll wait for the email, getting a not unique message when registering again, so they look to be slow.
