Co-writer/director of Still Alice, the film that won the Oscar this year for Julianne Moore. Glatzer had ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and the film about a woman with Alzheimer's obviously was quite personal for him. He was too ill to attend the Oscars and watched at home with his partner (and the film's other director) Wash Westmoreland.

Age 63.

I'm sorry to hear that. I knew him as a bridge player at my local club. Until Still Alice came out, I had no idea what he did for a living. --Bob
