Co-writer/director of Still Alice, the film that won the Oscar this year for Julianne Moore. Glatzer had ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and the film about a woman with Alzheimer's obviously was quite personal for him. He was too ill to attend the Oscars and watched at home with his partner (and the film's other director) Wash Westmoreland.
Age 63.

I'm sorry to hear that. I knew him as a bridge player at my local club. Until Still Alice came out, I had no idea what he did for a living. --Bobsilverscreenselect wrote:Co-writer/director of Still Alice, the film that won the Oscar this year for Julianne Moore. By the way, according to the story Westmoreland was his husband. --BobBob78164 wrote:I'm sorry to hear that. I knew him as a bridge player at my local club. When reality requires approval, control replaces truth.
To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead. -Thomas Paine
You can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality. -Ayn Rand
Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities. -Voltaire
