I have to be at work at 7am tomorrow to fill in for someone on vacation. This is the worst time to lose an hour of sleep.

Within the last two weeks or so I found out that two of my three sons never changed the clocks in their cars from last fall.
After tomorrow their clocks will finally be correct.

What happened to your night shifts? Losing an hour of sleep is so for the hoi polloi....

I'm still working night shifts Monday thru Thursday. This is a one-time thing.

Good news!
All the clocks in our home are right again. They've been an hour ahead for the last four months or so.

We are now on daylight time eight months out of the year and on standard time only four months. We might as well make it year-round. We could all just join the next time zone to the east and be done with it.

I think we should go six and six -- April through September, then October through March.
A long while back, we tried going DST year round, and it was miserable in the mornings. Winter mornings are very cold and dark for many of us, and parents were justifiably worried about sending their kids to school in such adverse conditions, especially on snowy days.

The most recent change added roughly 4 weeks to Daylight Saving Time. We move the start from the first Sunday in April to the second Sunday in March (three or four weeks) and the end from the last Sunday in October to the first Sunday in November (one week). --Bob

Finally starting to feel human (yawn). Last night was the local National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet, so got home late, around 11 p.m. (oops, I mean midnight), then couldn't get to sleep until midnight (oops, I mean 1 a.m.). Got up at 9 a.m. (oops, I mean 10) and hope to defeat the jet lag by about Friday.

Daylight Saving Time started at 2 AM, so all the original times you cited were correct. It was the 2:00 to 2:59 hour that disappeared!

Every justification I've ever seen for DST can be traced back to major failing of our society... we are slaves to the clock....
