Lyrically Speaking - 2/2/15

Before we begin with this week's totally alternative 90's edition of Mecca Monday, I'd like you all to say hello to our newest associate I just hired this morning. His name's Pete, and he'll be the new cart pusher/heavy item lifter at our Seattle location. Actually, that's a pretty tough job that requires some serious smarts, so for the time being, Pete will be scraping the clingons out of the management restroom and cleaning up puke off the carpet in apparel until he can show me he can make an intelligent decision. Speaking of Seattle, here's some songs from the Mecca CD's from the decade that gave us grunge and really shitty coffee. Yeah, some of you will flunk this game, but.... oh, excuse me...
Could I get Pete to enema aisle for a wet.... er, runny cleanup, please!
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...
1. This ain't no disco
This ain't no country club either
This is L.A.
2. The chills that you spill up my back
keep me filled with satisfaction when we're done
satisfaction of what's to come
3. A golden bird that flies away
A candle's fickle flame (hey)
To think I held you yesterday
Your love was just a game
4. Anytime I need to see your face I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place
Where your crystal minds and magenta feelings
Take up shelter in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chica cherry cola
5. Well, I`ll tell you one thing
If you would leave
It be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name, calling me out
6. Now the fuzzy stare from not being there on a confusing morning week
Impaired my tribal lunar-speak
And of course you can't become if you only say what you would have done
So I missed a million miles of fun
7. We don't even care, as restless as we are
We feel the pull in the land of a thousand guilts
And poured cement, lamented and assured
To the lights and towns below
Faster than the speed of sound
Faster than we thought we'd go, beneath the sound of hope
8. And I've been searching for something
Taken out of my soul
Something I would never lose
Something somebody stole
9. It ain't no joke
I'd like to buy the world a toke
And teach the world to sing in perfect harmony
10. Sitting around the house
Watching the sun trace the shadow on the floor
Searching for signs of life
But there's nobody home
11. Put on a little Dylan, sitting on a fence
I say that line is great, you ask me what it meant by:
"Said I shot a man named Gray, took his wife to Italy
She inherited a million bucks, and when she died
It came to me, I can't help it if I'm lucky"
12. She thinks, we look at each other
Wondering what the other is thinking
But we never say a thing
And these crimes between us grow deeper
Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist from the 90's that you'd put on the Mecca CD.
Image Bonus: Show me an image that represents the 1990's.
