#1 Post by Bob Juch » Thu Jan 22, 2015 9:42 am

Federal authorities are expected to arrest Sheldon Silver, the powerful speaker of the New York State Assembly, on corruption charges on Thursday, people with knowledge of the matter said. The case is likely to throw Albany into disarray at the beginning of a new session.

As if Albany wasn't in disarray before? Isn't this the legislature where the Republicans have a de facto majority because of a couple of conservative Democratic members, and the Democratic governor encouraged it? And I haven't even gotten to the Eliot Spitzer sideshow.

I can't think of any time in history, starting with the Dutch, when Albany hasn't been in disarray.
