Surprising playoff fact
Of the four remaining teams in the NFL playoffs the one that has gone the longest without winning the Super Bowl is...the Patriots! They last won it 10 years ago as opposed to the Colts (8 yrs. ago), Packers (4 yrs. ago) and Seahawks (last year).
So I guess poor, misfortunate Tom Brady and cuddly, lovable Bill Belichick are the ones to root for.

The Pats haven't won since caught taping other team's practices...

Pats beat the Eagles 10 years ago to win their last Super Bowl. Someone got their first cyberial cigar(of 32 over the next few years) for dating me that day.

Right...because six AFCCGs (including the last four in a row) and two Super Bowls (with a likely third coming up this season) is my definition of "winning nothing".ne1410s wrote:The Pats haven't won since caught taping other team's practices...

I sincerely hope that 32 doesn't represent what I think it does, in which case my profound sympathies go out to that woman.zachhoran1 wrote:Pats beat the Eagles 10 years ago to win their last Super Bowl. Someone got their first cyberial cigar(of 32 over the next few years) for dating me that day.
On second thought, my profound sympathies go out to her anyway.

That is a surprising fact. I don't think it will sway me from my support of the Packers. GB is The Baboo's second favorite team so our house will be pulling for them.

I think Super Creepy Rob Lowe was coaching the Packers those last five minutes of the game.Super Creepy Rob Lowe wrote:zachhoran1 wrote:Pats beat the Eagles 10 years ago to win their last Super Bowl. Someone got their first cyberial cigar(of 32 over the next few years) for dating me that day.

Re: Surprising playoff fact
Last five minutes wasn't the coaching, but player execution (well- except going for the block on a chip shot field goal late in the game, thus leaving the fake open, when the Seahawks needed TDs, not FGs, was the epitome of stupid).silverscreenselect wrote:I think Super Creepy Rob Lowe was coaching the Packers those last five minutes of the game.Super Creepy Rob Lowe wrote:zachhoran1 wrote:Pats beat the Eagles 10 years ago to win their last Super Bowl. Where this game was lost was those fourth downs and shorts...especially the one at the one foot line...where McCarthy refused to go for it. And his reasoning ("I wanted to go for it, but thought points would be at a premium") was the example of the overly-conservative thinking of head coaches in the game today. No- when you have a chance to put a dagger in Seattle- you DO it.
Not to mention that you should pretty much go for it whenever you are inside the opponent's five yard line to begin with.

Morgan Burnett (and I'm sorry to say this because he's a Georgia Tech guy) flopping with the interception with five minutes left was another dumb move. He didn't want to risk a fumble, but he had clear sailing and could easily have gotten another 10-20 yards to get them possibly into field goal range, or, if not, let them punt Seattle down deep.

Re: Surprising playoff fact
The decisions on 4th and short were terrible.
The interception flop was appalling- again, part of the "we're playing not to lose" mindset that was so prevalent in Green Bay's thinking the whole game. I'm thinking the guy had a shot at a touchdown.
Even worse was calling for the block of the chip shot FG...you know at that point Seattle needs touchdowns, not FGs- by going for the block, Green Bay left itself wide open for the fake.
