Lyrically Speaking - 1/12/15
Posted: Mon Jan 12, 2015 7:32 am
Good morning, and welcome everyone to the poorly thought out and ineptly run Lyrically Speaking Unextravaganza my servant LB is foisting upon you all this year. I'm sure you're already very familiar with how much of a slacker he is... and it's too bad you can't fire him from the Bored.
Because I'm literally brain dead, I actually agreed to return for Mecca Mondays by presenting more of the music I pipe into my temples of retail. Since LB told me we have a bunch of crotchety old people on this Bored who don't have the fine appreciation for the music of today that I do, we'll start with songs from the Mecca CD from the 1960's. Go ahead and feel free to light one up while you play this game... just make sure you pass a little of that on to your old buddy Sam... oh, excuse me...
Could I get security up to the front of the store to remove these dirty, nasty hippies from the doorway, please!
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...
WARNING!!! If you are using the subsilver2 or prosilver2 Bored interfaces, be aware that spoilers are NOT working, so be careful not to scroll down past the game thread!
1. Well the girls can't stand her
Cause she walks, looks and drives like an ace now
You walk like an ace now
You walk like an ace
2. When I`m driving in my car
And the man comes on the radio
He`s telling me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
3. Standing in the sunlight laughing
Hide behind a rainbow`s wall
Slipping and a-sliding
All along the waterfall with you
4. Oh, let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I'll never lie to you
5. 'Til I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs
Gonna meet you on the rooftop
6. Well, she's gonna get a ticket now sooner or later
'Cause she can't keep her foot off the accelerator
7. In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
8. Well, the girls are frisky in old Frisco
A pretty little chick wherever you go
9. When they gathered around and started talkin'
That's when Billy would take me walkin'
Out through the back yard we'd go walkin'
10. She feels good
She know she's looking fine
I'm so proud to know that she is mine
11. Love to kick my feet way down the shallow water,
shoo fly, dragonfly, get back to your mother.
Pick up a flat rock
12. She wants to live in the Rockies
She says that's where we'll find peace
Settle down, raise up a fam'ly
To call our own, yeah, we’ll have a home
Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist from the 60's you would put on the Mecca CD.
Image Bonus (Please see Esto's primer in the LS Rules thread if you need help with this!): Include an image that in some way is associated with the 1960's.
If you'd like a refresher on how the image bonus works, and how I scored some of the great entries I got last year, here's the first game I used it in last year.
